Prof. Sandeep Verma

Prof Verma is currently heading the Gangwal School of Medical Sciences and Technology at IIT Kanpur. Prof Sandeep Verma has been associated with IIT Kanpur since 1997. His research interests include chemical neuroscience, stem cell engineering, microfluidics, and new antibiotics. With over 230 publications and several patents to his credit, his work has been recognized by Society of Materials Chemistry (BARC) Gold Medal, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize, Distinguished Alumnus Award of Banaras Hindu University, DAE Outstanding Investigator, Goyal Prize, and Swarnajayanti Fellowship, to name a few.

He is an elected Fellow of Indian National Science Academy, Indian Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Sciences, and Indian National Academy of Engineering. He is an Associate Editor of Chemical Communications (RSC, UK) and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of ChemBioChem (Wiley). Till last year, he served as the Secretary, Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Ministry of Science and Technology. He recently established Stablin Biosciences – a start-up dedicated to thermostable insulin formulations.
