In addition to being a treating orthopedic physician, and professor, Dr. Danny Goel is the CEO and a co-founder at Precision OS™, a company which brings together orthopedic surgeons and high end game developers creating the most innovative, realistic and educational medical orthopedic simulator experience.
While maintaining a surgical practice, Dr. Goel is also a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery. He is a member of the Canadian Orthopedic Association, Canadian Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and British Columbia Medical Association, an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, and a member of the UBC Residency Training Committee, Codman Society, American and Canadian Shoulder Elbow Societies. Dr. Goel is fellowship trained from the University of Western Ontario and Harvard University, and has had exposure to complex shoulder tendon transfers at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.
As CEO of an innovative tech company, Dr. Danny Goel has spoken at various medical and technological conferences, as a panelist, speaker, and lecturer as an orthopedic surgeon. Facing the limitations that accompany traditional surgical training methods, he has decided to bring about the change needed to ensure surgical education keeps up with technological advances. More importantly, mitigates patient harm as a priority while improving care globally.
Led by Dr. Goel as the CEO, PrecisionOS Technology was founded and work was started to significantly improve surgical learning. With an interest in education and surgery, Dr. Goel is now inspiring his team to build a better learning platform for his colleagues in the medical industry, both local and around the world. While maintaining his clinical, surgical, and conference schedules, Dr. Goel is also completing this MBA in Life Sciences at the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management.
