Dr. Arjun Kalyanpur, the pioneer of teleradiology in India, is CEO of Teleradiology Solutions. After schooling at the St Columba’s School in New Delhi, where he stood first in his graduating class, he completed his medical education at India’s premier medical school - the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi followed by his postgraduation in Diagnostic Radiology leading to the MD degree, also at the AIIMS. In 1992, Dr Kalyanpur moved to the US where he obtained fellowship training in Body Imaging at the Cornell University Medical Center in New York and in Neuroradiology at the Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, Connecticut and also became certified by the American Board of Radiology. Dr Kalyanpur then worked on the Clinical Faculty of Yale University before returning to India in 1999.

Upon returning to India, Dr Kalyanpur worked for a year as Chief Radiologist at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences in Whitefield, Bangalore, where he set up a state of the art department with cardiac MRI, Interventional Neuroradiology and a mini PACS developed in-house.

In 2002 he left SSSIHMS and set up Teleradiology Solutions, a one of its kind health care IT Company that today provides teleradiologic interpretations to over 100 hospitals in the US, Singapore, Europe and now in remote areas of India. Teleradiology Solutions (US) is accredited by the US Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. It is also the first organization outside Singapore to be accredited by the Ministry of Health, Singapore.

Teleradiology Solutions is a company with a difference – one that strives to maintain the highest quality in everything it does, while providing a meaningful and fun-filled work experience to its employees. Dissemination of knowledge in its field through CME programs and corporate social responsibility are both key aspects of its existence. Through its Telerad Foundation it provides high quality telediagnostics to remote parts of India where there are patients and scanners but no doctor to interpret the images such as for Ramakrishna Mission Hospital, Arunachal Pradesh. Through its teaching website www.radguru.net, it provides a valuable online teaching resource to radiologists globally. A state of the art training center, Radgurukul has been created to deliver regular updates to radiologists and technologists in the form of conferences, with international videopresence. Its technology division, Teleradtech has developed a cutting edge radiology workflow platform RadSPA, which optimizes the efficiency and productivity of radiologists by delivering images anywhere at anytime. This has been made possible in part by the drive and initiative of Teleradiology’s CEO-Dr Kalyanpur.

He was awarded Modern Medicare’s Entrepreneur of the year award in 2007.

Dr Kalyanpur has published a number of research papers in the field of Teleradiology and Cardiac Radiology and delivered numerous invited lectures at National and International conferences worldwide. He has been featured several years in succession in Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who in Medicine. He has also been featured on, among other places, ABC, NBC, CBS, the New York Times and the New England Journal of Medicine as the path breaking pioneer of teleradiology services in Asia.

On a personal level, Dr Kalyanpur is married to Dr Sunita Maheshwari, an eminent pediatric cardiologist and the co-founder of Teleradiology Solutions, and has two children, Alisha and Adil. He reads extensively, enjoys tennis, travel, writing and the theatre, and is a fan of 70’s rock.
